Pamela Verfaillie has lived in 10 states due to travels with her husband's USCG career, and has been proud to call Valdez home for nearly 20 years. She is a school librarian serving students at Valdez High School and loves crafting and foraging in her "free" time. She has found learning about local healing plants from Alaska Native Elders to be both a joy and a privilege.

Sound Crafts Alaska got its start during the COVID-19 pandemic. While at home, she started sewing masks and obtained a business license (appreciating that Alaska was waiving licensing fees that year). With the license and supplies, she sewed over 2,000 masks that were sold or donated to non-profit organizations. She reinvested the money into better equipment and now funds her hobbies by selling at markets and some local businesses.

When not busy with VHS and Sound Crafts Alaska, she serves on the boards of the Copper River Basin Child Advocacy Center and the Alaska Association of School Librarians.
